Over the next twelve months, H.E.L.P. (House, Empower, & Lift People) of Nevada County will complete the property purchase and site plan review process. With all the talk in the news about the affordable housing crisis, here is your chance to stand up and be heard. No longer can we sit by and wait for our governmental leaders to come up with solutions. Now is the time for action!

We firmly believe that a minimum wage job shouldn't relegate you to renting for the rest of your life. Someone working full time should have the same opportunity for the American Dream—a chance to own a home.

By providing a stable living environment for a low-income family, you can help stem the tide of homelessness. According to a study by HUD, a chronically homeless person costs taxpayers about $40,000 per year. Study after study has shown that supportive housing not only resolves homelessness and increases housing stability, but also improves health and lowers public costs by reducing the use of publicly-funded crisis services, including shelters, hospitals, psychiatric centers, jails, and prisons.

After you review our micro-village proposal, we hope you will join with us to help make affordable housing a reality!

Also, please check out our book fundraiser for another way to contribute. For as little as $2.99 (free for Amazon Prime members), you can make a huge difference in someone's life. Help stop homelessness before it happens!
